Ambassadors
The Ambassadors Committee provides outreach and support to Chamber members
through direct contact. Members of the committee find their contacts with
members to be beneficial in growing their own base of potential new customers.
Initiatives
Directly contact Chamber members each month about initiatives and activities
at the Livonia Chamber of Commerce.
Fulfill support related functions at "Wake Up Livonia" breakfasts
5 oclock Connections and other designated events.
Lead two annual Membership Blitzes to contact members at their place
of work.
Ambassadors meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:45 a.m.
Government Issues
The Government Issues Committee explores and analyzes important public
policy issues that impact the business community and the City of Livonia.
The committee also hosts Legislative Roundtables and candidate debates
with elected public officials.
Initiatives
Host three roundtables during the course of the year with elected officials
at the city, county and state level. The committee also hosts candidate
debates during elections.
Identify and recommend to the Board of Directors public policy positions
on issues that impact business climate and the quality of life in Livonia.
Conduct surveys of the membership to gage their sentiment on key public
policy issues and publicize those results.
The Government Issues committee meets the third Thursday of each month.
Awards Committee
Each year the Chamber hosts the Awards and Leadership Celebration in September
to recognize outstanding businesses and individual contributions to the
Livonia community.
Initiatives
Research and decide the honorees for the Outstanding Large and Small
Business of the year.
A subgroup of this committee also chooses the Athena Award recipient
for their contribution for the advancement of women in business.
The committee meets in the summer prior to the Awards & Leadership Celebration in September.
